Comrade History
Learn Something About Our Hotel
Lahore, Undivided India. Early 1930s: A 13-year-old orphan boy from Srinagar, stood mesmerized by the majesty of architecture and business houses around him. In his impressionable heart, a seed was sown, and a dream took shape. A dream to leave his mark with something distinguished and grand.
It was in 1937 that Ghulam Muhammad Shah, now a young man, established the ‘Comrade House’. It was a business establishment with diverse portfolios and kept growing enormously under the patronage of Shah. Shah’s kin have been actively involved in the family business and have taken it forward. It was his grandson, Sajid Shah, who finally established the Comrade Inn, Hotels and Resorts, in around 2006 and has since made it the most formidable name in the hospitality sector of Kashmir.
